Troubles finding a hall
Looks like we are moving forward with a Fall 2008 wedding. The church has us penciled in for 11/29/08. The band is reserved. The dress is bought. Now I’m missing a minor detail…the RECEPTION HALL! Who knew that finding a hall to accommodate 350 people, conveniently located for my out of town family and fits within our budget would be so difficult. I have honestly searched over 40 reception locations and should become a wedding consultant for future brides-to-be. I’ve done all the work for you! For a nominal fee, I will share my spreadsheet with all 40 quotes with you, including itemized lines for rental fees, tax and gratuity. Trust me, I will save you months of research!

Here are some ideas for an orange inspired wedding that I really like!
First meeting with the priest
Last night we had our first official general meeting with our priest at St. Teresa, Father Bolte. Our first meeting was harmless and we learned all about what to expect in the coming months during our marriage preparation classes. We have about seven more church/couple related meetings to attend, including a FOCUS survey/questionnaire. In addition to these meetings, we have to attend either the Engaged Encounter (weekend retreat) or Pre-Cana (one day seminar). I’m actually quite open to the weekend retreat if it is truly in the best interest of our marriage and growing together as a Catholic couple. Next week Tuesday we go back for the FOCUS questionnaire to see how much we really think alike…and discover how many differences we may have when it comes to the roles of husband and wife. I’m fairly certain that giving daily foot rubs to my fiance does not fall into this discussion as a mandatory role as a wife. :o) Sorry Alex.

YES! No more nightmares about waking up on my wedding day and not having a dress to wear. I have had this same nightmare for about a year now (and yes, I have only been engaged for about three months…but thats a minor detail). My dream always involves me frantically searching for a last minute gown, but not in a bridal store like one would think, but rather…more like thrift stores and neighbor’s attics! It was horrible! In each case, I still went down the aisle in some sort of horrible 1970’s or 80’s gown that was totally not my style and didn’t fit properly.
The dress I bought is totally me and I am so excited! I betcha want to know what it looks like, eh? Guess you will just have to wait and see! :o)

is this weekend. The annual Wendy’s Bridal Show at the Convention Center showcases over 150 Cincinnati wedding professionals. I have attended a number of other shows for a few close friends but I think it is finally hitting me that I am no longer the bridesmaid, but in fact, the bride.
How exciting!
